Yong-beom Lim

Yong-beom Lim is a Professor of Materials Science & Engineering (MSE) at Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea. He received his B.S degree in Chemistry from SungKyunKwan University in 1995, and M.S and Ph.D. degrees in Chemistry from Seoul National University in 1997 and 2001, respectively. His postdoctoral research was done at the Department of Biochemistry & Biophysics, University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) (2002-2006). From 2006 to 2009, he worked at the Center for Supramolecular Nano-Assembly, Yonsei University as a research professor. He joined the MSE faculty of Yonsei University at 2009. He has pioneered the fields of biodegradable polymeric gene delivery carriers & bioactive self-assembling peptide nanostructures. The focus of his current research is the development of self-assembling biomaterials based on the inspiration from nature, while combining principles of chemistry, biology, physics, medicine, and materials. He is on the Editorial Boards of Peptide Science and ChemPlusChem.
